Blue Wing 650

During my trip last February in Australia for the press test Yamaha XJR 1300 Racer I had the chance to meet the guys Sydney Cafe Racers and know Gary Vicente and admire his Ducati Ala Azzurra 650.
Picking my request sent me these pictures.

This started off as an original 1984 Cagiva Alazzurra 650.
After having an accident and flipping the bike (with Mark Hawwa and the Sydney Cafe Racers), It was time for a rebuild.
The original Alazzurra frame was the only part that survived the crash. The rest, engine, forks, wheels, tank and instruments were damaged.

So, it was time to search for parts.
The engine is now a 750cc from a Ducati Monster, Mikuni carbs were replaced with a pair of Del Ortos PHM 36s using Pantah intake manifolds. Tomaselli throttle assembly now controls the intake.
The tank is off a Sport Desmo 500, New Old Stock (factory paint), thanks to Ian Gowanloch of Italspares.
Wheels and calipers are Sport Classic 1000.

Daytona Velona dash with voltage meter replaced the original cable driven speedo drive. Also, a hand made, home made lights panel was made to hold 4 idiot lights.
Exhaust cans are from a Monster 1100s that was fabricated to fit, it only cost $400 AUD including mufflers ($100) all in a day!
The idea was to build a bike consisting of Ducati parts (from each decade), from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000 and 2010.
